Registered User & Coupon Parking Process For New IPS Paystations
The AHEC Parking and Transportation office has been working on a campus wide parking system transition, with IPS Parking Solutions, to offer increased functionality to campus users, as well as provide better back-office reporting and flexibility with event pricing.
As part of this transition, new pay stations and license plate recognition cameras have been added to reduce traffic queues at kiosks and improve campus enforcement management.
With this system transformation, there are a couple process changes regarding the usage of coupons on campus, and ensuring registered campus users continue to pay the daily campus rate as opposed to evening/weekend rates.
Please understand that registering your vehicle is completely different from purchasing a permit or passport, and that registering your vehicle only allows you as a campus member to get the daily rate during evening and weekend rate increases.
AHEC Parking and Transportation completed the final beta testing items with IPS on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Please see below the outlined changes:
I. Registered Users – To ensure that all registered users continue to receive the daily rate, our process for campus users to register their vehicle has not changed. If you have already registered your vehicle, nothing further is needed from you. If you have not, please follow the instructions HERE.
Prior Process (Ventek Parking)
- Campus users would register their license plate(s) using the link/process above.
- Parkers would enter their license plate into the Ventek pay station
- The campus daily rate would be displayed, and the parker would submit payment
New Process (IPS Parking)
- Campus users register their license plate(s) using the link/process above.
- Parkers enter their license plate into the IPS pay station
- Select coupon option (#)
- Parker enters license plate into the pay station
- The campus daily rate would be displayed, and the parker would submit payment
Note: steps 3 and 4 are only needed if entering your license plate during evening/weekend timeframes when the campus parking rates change.
