When:               Friday, October 19, 1–3 p.m.
Where:              King Center—Room 206
Cost:                  Free for current Auraria Campus students, faculty, and staff
Trainer:            Denver Health Paramedic Division

This two-hour course teaches participants basic life-saving medical interventions:

  • Bleeding control with a tourniquet
  • Bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents
  • Opening an airway to allow a casualty to breathe

This National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) course is for civilians with limited or no medical training who wish to learn evidence-based, life-saving bleeding control techniques that can dramatically increase casualty survival.
