Darci Murata

Supervising Teacher, Room 112

Darci.Murata@ahec.edu

My name is Darci Murata and I’m the Supervising Teacher in room 112. I started my teaching career on the Auraria Campus while finishing my bachelor's degree in Human Development with a minor in Early Childhood Education.

I was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Kaua'i. I have two older brothers and one younger brother. My parents and brothers all still live on the island with our dog Pixie, yet we are all Denver Bronco fans! In my free time, I enjoy cooking, indoor gardening, snowboarding, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Jordan Parsons

Supervising Teacher, Room 116

Jordan.Parsons@ahec.edu

My name is Jordan Parsons, also known to your children as Ms. Jordan! I am joining Room 116 as the Supervising Teacher. I just completed a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in Elementary Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Along with my degree, I also earned my teaching license. While working towards my degree, I spent most of my field experience teaching kindergarten and enjoyed every minute of it. I was also employed at the ELC as a teacher’s assistant. I am a proud Colorado native, and I like to do the typical Colorado things, like riding my bike around the city and taking day trips to the mountains to go fishing. I like pretending I’m really good at crafts, but it never ends up looking right. I also love reading and spend most of my free days at the library.

Jenny Goetz

Supervising Teacher, Room 118

Jenny.Goetz@ahec.edu

Hello, my name is Jenny Goetz and I am the Supervising Teacher in Room 118. I began my career at AELC in 2010 after owning a used and rare bookstore for 10 years. I have always loved children, and learning, and I have a very playful personality, and teaching preschool has been a natural progression. I was an English major for many years before switching to Early Childhood Education and my focus is on literacy for young children. We can learn so much about how to be in the world through literature, and picking out books and exploring stories with my students is one of my favorite things. I have a nine-year-old daughter, the light of my life, who spent four wonderful years at AELC, so I have the perspective of a parent as well as a teacher. Providing a safe, comfortable place to learn and love is my priority in the classroom.

Jimmett Vasquez

Supervising Teacher, Room 120

Jimmett.Vasquez@ahec.edu

Hello, my name is Jimmett Vasquez and I am the Supervising Teacher for Room 120. I am excited to be working with such wonderful teachers, staff, and families. Before I found my way to the AELC, I spent eight years in the U.S. Army. During my enlistment, I earned my B.A. in Human Performance and Sport with a concentration in K-12 Physical Education. I have had the opportunity to teach children from the ages of one-year-old to 14-years-old. During my teaching stint in middle school, I found my heart belonged to the toddlers. Fortunately, for the past five years, I have been able to follow my dreams. I am a lifelong learner and plan to continue my education studying Human Development. I have one daughter, and during our free time, we enjoy going to the park and zoo. When I am not with my daughter, you can find me reading.
