Auraria Special for Kids

Theresa Meyers, M.A.

Educational Specialist

Theresa.Meyers@ahec.edu

My name is Theresa Meyers and I have been the Education Specialist here at the AELC since March of 2005. I have my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Special Education. I was the Supervising Teacher in Room 100 from 1994 to 2002 and “retired” when I had my daughter Grace, followed by my son, Luke a year-and-a-half later. Although I loved and valued my time being a stay-at-home mom, I was delighted to return to the AELC in my new role. I thoroughly enjoy working with families and young children who are faced with challenges, and strive to seek out ways to capture individual learning styles for each child through guidance and support. If you have any concerns or questions about your child, please don’t hesitate to ask. I am here to work with you and the staff as a team in order to support and ensure success and goals for your child.

Erin Arcand

Family Support Consultant

Erin.Arcand@ahec.edu

Hi, my name is Erin Arcand, and I’m very excited to be the new Family Support Consultant here at AELC! I grew up in Western Colorado, went to Chicago for my undergraduate degree in Psychology, and then got my master’s degree in Social Work in Minneapolis. I moved back to Colorado two years ago, and am thrilled to be here! My passion is working with preschoolers struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and have worked extensively with kids ages one to six with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. Here at AELC, I will be helping teachers and families to support kids who are having a hard time emotionally and/or behaviorally, and to help those kids be successful in the classroom. If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please feel free to email me or stop by to chat!

Christina Sevilla

Occupational Therapist Consultant

Christina.Sevilla@ahec.edu

Hi, my name is Christina Sevilla, MA, OTR/L. I truly enjoy my role as Occupational Therapist Consultant here at the AELC! I grew up in the Denver area, attended the University of Colorado for my undergraduate degree in Psychology, and later received a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California. I love my busy Denver life with my husband, two kids, and huge, crazy dog. My background working at Children’s Hospital and in private practice led me to the Auraria Campus, where I am privileged to work with my favorite age groups in areas such as fine motor skill development, sensory processing, and adaptive skills. I am here to assist teachers and families in supporting their kids to be successful in the classroom and at home. If you have any questions about how I can help your child, please feel free to email me or stop by the ASK Team office anytime.
