Campus Announcements

Start Planning Now: RTD Projects to Disrupt Most Public Transportation to Campus from May-September

RTD recently announced several summer maintenance projects expected to disrupt many light rail lines that feed into the Auraria Campus and downtown. After more than 30 years, RTD is investing in its oldest rail infrastructure to ensure the long-term integrity of the network.

Some of the bus routes in the area will also be modified. Combined with several ongoing downtown construction projects, we anticipate major impacts for people commuting to campus via public transportation from late May through mid-September. RTD has not finalized all route changes, but it has indicated that stops at the Colfax station and Auraria West stations may be reduced or eliminated during this time period. RTD expects to make final decisions on light rail and bus routes in late April. While the details are not all clear, now is the time to plan

We will provide updates as we become aware of new information. However, RTD is the best source of information on when, where, and how your commute may need to adjust, and we encourage you to check its website often for the latest information. While driving to campus may not be an option for everyone, we would like to remind you that there is student, faculty, and staff parking for all institutions available on the Auraria Campus. Three garages on the north side of Speer Boulevard at the Lawrence Street Center, the CU Denver Building, and the CU Denver Business School have limited parking by permit available to CU Denver faculty and staff. Check the respective websites for rates and options.
