This help page is set up as an expandable list. You may click on anything with a number or bullet next to it to expand and view the topic.

To go back to the Master Calendar application click on the Auraria logo in the top left corner of this page. You may also go directly to some of the features in Master Calendar by clicking on the links just below the header of this page (ie. calendar, search, etc.).

Hint: To increase or decrease the text size in Internet Explorer or Firefox use "Ctrl + '+'" or "Ctrl + '-'" (Safari or Firefox for OS X use "apple + '+'" and "apple + '-'").

2. Main Page:

The main page shows all the avaialble calendars as well as any aditional external links to relative informaion. You can click directly on any of the calendars to view them.

To combine various calendars, check the checkbox for each calendar you would like to combine and then select the "View Selected" button.

To view all events on the same calendar click the View All button.

To clear all checked calendars click the Clear button.

3. Calendar Views:

When you select a calendar on the "Main Page" it will take you to the current month for the calendar you selected.

At the top left of the calendar there are four tabs labeled Day, Week, Month and Year as well as links to change between "List View" and "Grid View" (calnedar format). For information on the four tabs click on one of the four topics below.

If you know what day the event or class you are looking for is happening, you can click that day in the calendar and it will take you to the "Day View".

All of the view options below (except for Event View or Year View) can be viewed in list form by clicking on the "List View" link next to the "Year" tab.

Picture of Views section

The Event View shows the avaialble information for the event, as well as any other events that are related to that event

On the right side of the page, below the login section, there is an "Actions" section. Here you have options to print the event, add a reminder to the appropiate program (ie. Outlook), email the details to someone else, or add the event to your calendar program (ie. Outlook).

The "Day View" is a list of all events or classes for that day. It is able to be sorted by Event Time, Event Details (this is usually the event name or class name/information) or Event Location.
If there are more than 500 events for that day, links for going between pages will be displayed at the bottom of the page.
This is the same as Month View Except that it shows more events per day and shows one week at a time.
This is the default view for all calendars
For each day, the first three events for that day are show. If you would like to see more events for that day you may either click on the day number (top right corner of each day) or at the bottom of each day where it says "(x) more events..." If that is not shown it means there are three or less events for that day. If you click on either of these two items it will take you to the Day View for that particular day (see "Day View" section above).
The Year View allows you to quickly go to any date in the current year. To go to the next year or a previous year click on the left or right arrows below the Day tab.

4. Filter Options:

The Filter Options section allows you to change the date you are viewing, as well as narrow down your search by Event Type or Location. Currently the Event Type and Location fucnctions have limited functionality.

5. Search Options:

The Search Options section is a way to narrow your results by using keywords. For example if you are looking for a class you can type in the class number 1234 and all classes with the number 1234 will show up.

You can get more specific with the keywords so if your class 1234 is also an English class than you can put ENGL 1234 into the keyword field and only classes matching ENGL and 1234 will be displayed. Please note that the department codes can vary from school to school (ie. ENG or ENGL)

Depending on the format that was given to us by each school there may or may not be spaces in things like Course ID. So when searching try entering your search terms both with and without spaces (ie. ENGL 1111 and ENGL1111)

6. Exporting Events:

The calendering program allows for the exporting of event details as .csv or .txt files. To export events from the calendar click on the Export link below the Search Options section.

This function will export all events for the type of view you are currently viewing (ie. if you are in the Month View and you click Export, all events for the month, less any you have filtered out, will be exported. if you are in Day View, all events for that day will be exported).

You may also use the export events page to combine multiple calendars and edit date ranges. To do this go to My Options > Export Events

7. How to Find a Class or Event: (IN PROGRESS)

1. From the main page, select the calendar(s) you want to search.

2. In the Search Options section (see section 5) enter the event name or class info such as title, course or CRN number in the Keyword section.

3. Change the view to "List View" in the views section (see section 3).

4. Make sure you are looking in the correct time range. For example, finals are at the end of each semester, but the calender defaults to the current date. So to view finals, make sure you have selected the appropiate finals calendar and navigate to the week of finals.
