Here are some frequently asked question pertaining to the Facilities Management Department.  If you have other questions, please call our Customer Service Desk at (303) 556-3260.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Q. Where is the Facilities Management office located?
A. We are located at 1156 7th. Street, on the west side of campus.

Q. Who is in charge of Facilities Management?
A. Jim Fraser is the Facilities Management Director. His phone number is (303) 556-2247.

Q. What are Facilities Management normal hours of operation?
A. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  If you have needs during after-hours, contact Campus Police Dispatch at (303) 556-5000.

Q. What services does Facilities Management offer?
A. We provide a broad array of typical facility services to the campus and its physical plant.. Some of the services we offer are: General maintenance and repair, capital construction, controlled maintenance, remodeling, and hazardous waste. You can find out more information about these services by visiting the Services page.

Q. How do I request work from Facilities Management?
A. You can either call our Customer Service Desk at (303) 556-3260 or you can submit an online work request here.

KEYS

Q. How do I request a key to a door or building?
 
A.
  • First you need to fill out a Key Request Card. Make sure the Card is signed by the proper signature authority at your institution before sending it to Facilities Management. Additional guidance is provided on the back of each Key Request Card.
  • Mail the Card to Campus Box D, or drop it off in person at 1156 7th Street.
  • The key will be ready three business days after the Card is received at Facilities Management.
  • Students requesting keys are required to leave a refundable deposit of $25.00. The deposit is returned when the key is returned to Facilities Management. Departments can pay for the student deposit through a completed work order request form or a written letter with appropriate signatures and account numbers.
Q. How do I request a key to a cabinet or a mailbox?
A.
  • A Work Request is required. This can be filled out online or by calling our Customer Service Desk. Specify the key number(s) needed. Call the Lockshop (556-3260) if you need assistance with the key numbers.
  • Mail the Work Order Request to Campus Box D, or drop it off in person at 1156 7th street.
  • Keys will be ready three business days after the Work Order is received by Facilities Management.
  • Your department will be charged $1.25 for each single-sided key and $2.50 for each double-sided key
Q. What do I do if I have lost a key?
A. 
If you lose a key, you need to report the incident to Campus Police. Another Key Request Card will need to be filled out (be sure to include the Campus Police Incident Number on it). A non-refundable $25.00 fee is required for replacement keys.

Q. What times can I get my ID card encoded?
A. Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 1-2:30PM
    Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday from 8-9AM.

WHO DO I CALL?


Q. Who do I call if I have question concerning hazardous waste, or need to have hazardous waste removed?
A. Call David Krajicek in our Environmental Health and Safety department at (303) 556-8397.

Q. Who do I call if I have a Hazardous spill emergency?
A. Please contact Campus Police Dispatch at (303) 556-5000 immediately.

Q. Who do I call if I have a question about classroom use, campus events, or need to schedule a conference?
A. Call Facilities Planning at (303) 556-8376.

Q. Who do I call if I have a question about campus phone services?
A. Call Telecommunication at (303) 556-2206.

Q. Who do I call if my car is parked on campus and has a dead battery, is out of gas, or has a flat tire?
A. Call Parking and Transportation Services at (303) 556-2000.
