TIMELY NOTIFICATION BULLETIN FOR THE AURARIA CAMPUS |
In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the Auraria Higher Education Center located in Downtown Denver is issuing notice of a violent crime that occurred on the Auraria Campus. |
REPORTED OFFENSE: On March 10, 2010, at approximately 9:20 p.m., a UC Denver student and a friend were assaulted and robbed at the Circle K store located off-campus at West Colfax Avenue and Mariposa Street. The victims, after attending classes, left the Colfax at Auraria light rail station where they were approached by two suspects who began a verbal confrontation. The suspects followed the victims and robbed them at knife point just outside the Circle K store on Colfax Avenue. Both victims were struck multiple times with brass knuckles. The suspects fled eastbound on Colfax with money and personal property. The victims' injuries were reported as minor and both refused medical assistance from Denver Health paramedics. |
SUSPECTS: Suspect #1 is described as a, Hispanic male, 5 foot, 8 inches tall, short black hair, wearing a gray hoody and blue jeans. The suspect carried a gray butterfly knife. Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic male, 5 foot, 11 inches tall, wearing a black hoody and blue jeans with a plain black ball cap with a flat brim. This suspect carried a set of brass knuckles. |
