TIMELY NOTIFICATION BULLETIN FOR THE AURARIA CAMPUS AGGRAVATED ASSAULT February 25, 2012 - 2:01 a.m. |
In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the Auraria Higher Education Center located in Downtown Denver is issuing notice of a violent crime that occurred on the Auraria Campus. |
REPORTED OFFENSE: Early Saturday morning, at approximately 1:00 a.m., an Auraria Campus student was followed and by two suspects on Light Rail to the Auraria West Station where the student disembarked and was assaulted near Campus Village. The suspects demanded the student's backpack and iPod and was assaulted when the student refused to give them up. The student was knocked to the ground, but was able to flee to Campus Village and immediately contacted Denver Police. The suspects fled on foot west bound on Walnut Street. No weapons were reported seen by the student. Auraria Police responded immediately when notified by Denver PD. |
| SUSPECT: The suspects are described as two white males, 19-20 years old, 5'9" and 5'11" in height. |
| REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: The Auraria Police Department urges everyone to use caution when encountering individuals who are not personally known to them and to stay aware of their surroundings at all times. Please report any suspicious activity or suspicious persons to the Auraria Campus Police Department. |
