TIMELY NOTIFICATION BULLETIN FOR THE AURARIA CAMPUS January 27, 2010 8:57 AM |
| In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the Auraria Higher Education Center located in Downtown Denver is issuing notice of a violent crime that occurred on the Auraria Campus. |
Although this crime occurred in the late afternoon of January 26, 2010, it was not initially reported to Auraria Police until 8:00 p.m. |
REPORTED OFFENSE: On Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Auraria Campus Police Department was notified of an Unlawful Sexual Contact crime on the south side of the West Classroom Building. The victim stated that as she was nearing the south entrance of the West Classroom Building between 5:25 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., when an unknown man approached her from behind. Upon contact with the victim, the assailant pulled up her skirt and then fled. |
| SUSPECT:
The suspect is described as a stocky male of unknown race, about 5’10”. The suspect was wearing a dark blue wind breaker with the hood tied around his face, blue jeans, black athletic shoes with white markings, and had a black draw string athletic bag with white markings. |
| REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: The Auraria Police Department urges everyone to use caution when encountering individuals who are not personally known to them and to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Please report any suspicious activity or suspicious persons to the Auraria Campus Police Department. |
